Haven't been in Kyoto for the longest while. Last time I just spent a day here on my way to Kanazawa for a research visit. That was already three years ago. I lived in Kyoto about 9 years ago.
Walking along the river banks is definitely one of the greatest walks you can take in the city. The big Y-shaped rivers separate the city into three parts.
I am not sure what these birds are called. But I guess they are a type of eagle. Most of time you can see them in the air looking for an opportunity to catch a prey
