I am sorry for your loss, Lizzie.

Ah, okay, I get you. I was a bit concerned that it looked like I was suggesting a certain course. It seems to me that both negative and positive thinking have their respective places - it's just about

That's whataboutery. I am no fan of Clinton, but her lies do not negate Trump's lies. And he lies all the time - he has worked out the power of lying. It's a typical narcissistic trait.

I am not sure I was trying to give you a reality check! There is a terrific book by Derren Brown called "Happy": He rallies against blinkered positive thinking, and encourages the reader to really

Yes, I did see this. He has a way of owning topics. My friend went to see his stage show last week - he said it was brilliant, and he is a fussy cunt!

I stand corrected! He will have a go at the left and the right, though. He is not your typical dogmatic intellectual leftie that fuels anti-liberal thinking.

He's a star. I have been watching him for a couple of years. It's a bit lazy to call him a leftie - he is more anti-establishment than a leftie.

I understand what you are experiencing. I am going through something similar. Not the same, because I am not you. I can't give you any specific advice. Something to (perhaps) bear in mind is that I see

You write so well, Fiona! It's a real skill to paint a picture so vividly with words.

As a race, we will never move on to where we need to go until universal, free healthcare is a privilege that everyone has. Public transport, too. The money is there, right here, right now to do this. It

That's absolutely stunning. The sky is a work of art that we often don't appreciate!

Lots of good advice. It is easy to lose faith and give up. However, I am always a little wary of absolute positivity. Yes, it's important that we don't give up when we hit a bump in the road, and yes,

He went public about his atheism in 2014, so to suggest: I believe Hawking's devotion to evolution and denying God IS the thing that made him famous. Is clearly incorrect. And this is my main problem with

So without evidence, what do you base your belief system on? Ears? Seems less than tenuous.

The Nazis researched a lot of things. To say they researched something is all but meaningless without something to back it up. The problem with any of these conspiracy type theories is that most of them

Without any evidence, all these claims are meaningless. And honestly, I can't even work out if you are taking the piss...

This is reaching, isn't it? Merkel is 63 - unless she isn't and is more like 72, and this is all a part of the suggested conspiracy - so unless you think Hitler was alive and copulating 8 years after his

You're completely right, Lizzie. People do hold onto things too much. I live in a country that has a complicated political past (Ireland), and I am all too aware that some people are stuck in the past

It is just so sad that everybody seems to be so focused on his belief that there is no god. Uh...what is the article that you have published here about?

I believe Hawking's devotion to evolution and denying God IS the thing that made him famous. I believe that this is utterly self- serving; an assumption to justify your criticisms of him. He only announced
