If you want to start a business, you must have a laser focus for it to become successful.
This is something that is extremely over said but it's because it's true. Of course, I was told this multiple time by my mentors. But for some stupid reason, I always believed I could be an exception.
Instead of focusing on a single project and working on it for it to be successful, I would start multiple projects hoping that they would all become successful. There are still some people who would say that this can be done and all you need to do is proper time management. I would argue that this is not the best plan of attack. The reason for this is because if you only dedicate a short amount of time to each project, it will take a very long time for any of the projects to blossom. Would it not be better to focus on one project, watch it grow and generate revenue, and then once it's stable move onto building another project? This way, you'll be working on a project while having a successful project generating money for you in the background.
I once made the mistake of having 8 projects all at the same time. I had a live streaming, cryptocurrency, farm water stock, solar, coffee, real estate, private money lending, and social media project all at the same time. it's no wonder why none of them gained momentum and blossomed into what I had envisioned. I spent money buying domains and I spent time building websites, creating logos, and creating social media profiles. Trust me when I tell you that I have learned my lesson.
I have cut down everything to 3 projects with my focus being on 1:
- Coffee - This is my main business since I have already established a system and it has momentum
- Steemit - I take it as a hobby writing posts and curating on my free time
- Solar - I have to wait for 1 year in order to get a contractor's license. So I don't have to dedicate much time to it
If you have multiple projects going on, I highly suggest you take a hard look at everything that you do in order to find the projects you're truly passionate about. Do not start a project just because there is "possibility" of earning money. You need to have a passion for the project or else you won't be dedicated enough to get past the hardships and obstacles.
Passion and energy are everything. Make sure to find a project that you love in order for your passion and energy to be invested into it.
