Do We Really Need to Work? Or Can We Spend Our Days Not Doing Anything?

Hey, everyone! Short answer to the question in the title is YES. I believe we do need to be working. But allow me to explain.

Over this past weekend, I hung out with friends and I played a lot of video games. There was nothing wrong with this, but I felt uncomfortable after a while. I noticed that my mind kept going back to Steemit and dTube; the thought of putting in work kept returning to my mind. Even though I was having fun, I knew that I had to be investing my time elsewhere. This is why when I woke up this morning, the first thing I did was turn on the camera and record this video.

In my opinion, work is extremely important. It makes me feel like I'm spending my time wisely and as if I have a purpose. Everytime that I'm working, whether it be on Steemit or another project, I want to feel like it's purposeful and like I'm providing value to someone or something. If I'm not working, then I may feel like I'm cheating myself. Almost like I'm withering away doing nothing. One of the reasons why I think work is so important is because it provides stimulus to our bodies and minds. By being creative and solving problems when at work, we're challenging our minds to think different. Working is a way for us to flex and build our brain power and muscle power. After a long period of time of not working, our minds and bodies just aren't the same.

Of course, work is only great when we enjoy it. If you hate your job, then I encourage you to find something that you're passionate about. Do it with all your heart and know that you're serving a greater purpose. At least that's how I think of it. If you're not working, I highly suggest you get into the habit of doing something that stimulates your mind and body. Take forward steps in life, both physically and mentally. I'm sure you will thank yourself for it.
