Earthworms are tubular and segmented worms in Annelida phyla. They are commonly found living on the ground, eating organic matter alive and dead. The digestive system goes through its body length.
By nature, the morphology and anatomy of earthworms evolved to adapt to their environment. Earthworms commonly eat leaf litter and also other plant material that has died, then digested and excreted in the form of dirt. The animal's ability to consume litter as a food depends on the availability of the preferred litter, as well as the carbon and nitrogen content of the litter.
Earthworms have been known to be useful creatures to fertilize soil and fodder. Earthworms have tremendous benefits, such as in South Korea and Taiwan worms have been consumed by humans for the source of animal protein and traditional medicine, which is well known as a country that exports many earthworms.
In Asian countries, earthworms are usually used as medicine, ie by cleaning (healing foods), splitting and drying it to dry.
