The film is full of quotes that amaze me, after all this film is supported by its script. In short, line after line has left me flabbergasted by the great elegance of its dialogues, and it is these works that deserve more opportunity. The title fits the film so well that it seems not to warn any surprise, however, its scenes hide more than what the viewer expects.

El film está repleto de citas que me maravillan, después de todo a esta película la sostiene con gran labor su guion. En definitiva me ha dejado flipando línea tras línea la gran elegancia de sus diálogos, y son estas obras las que merecen más oportunidad. El título queda tan justo a la película que pareciera no advertir ninguna sorpresa, sin embargo, sus escenas esconden más de lo que el espectador espera.

Its gun graphics and opaque tone editing goes very well with the style of the work, which while it can be cozy has a constant tension throughout the plot, bringing with it more secrets than can be deciphered.

This is a film for fans of cinema made with calm, wit and an excellent narrative proposal, and above all those films that make you think a lot about what is happening.

Repito, los diálogos tanto entre personajes como el interno de la narrativa dejan un encanto desde el inicio, y es sin duda junto a la actuación de Mark Rylance lo que más me cautivó, no por nada tiene un Oscar en su trayectoria. Esta es una película para los fans del cine hecho con calma, ingenio y una excelente propuesta narrativa, y sobre todo esas filmaciones que te hacen pensar mucho en qué está pasando.

The theme of the film covers the mafia and its derivatives, but with that style of The Godfather that captivates so much in the old days, not only that, it also has as a central point the migration, overcoming and ingenuity, the mixture of these three is what makes this film impressive.

The story takes place mostly in the tailor shop of Leonard, our main character, in one of the hottest areas of Chicago in the 50s. Leonard keeps his business as a peaceful, cozy, quiet place, what you expect from a tailor's home. The Irish mob, of the few who can afford such expensive suits, begin to bypass Leonard's indifferent and submissive personality to use his place as a meeting place to plan their next moves.

La historia transcurre mayoritariamente en la sastrería de Leonard, nuestro personaje principal, en una de las zonas más calientes de Chicago en los años 50. We know that the mob theme is not something new, the best stagings in cinema have been with this genre, still, The Mob Tailor is not far behind any of those installments. When the murders and the search for a traitor is presented in the plot, the growing tension does not stop piercing the screen, the turn of events one after another keeps the eyes attentive to any situation, and that is a point very much in favor of this film.

Its characters and dialogue do it all, perhaps at times it can get a bit theatrical, but that doesn't take away from the great work done. In the characters we have not only Leonard, our impassive and attentive tailor, but also Richie (Dylan O'brien), the son of one of the most important mob bosses, and Francis (Johnny Flynn), the boss's right hand man and Richie's caretaker. But then there's Mable (Zoey Deutch), the tailor's eager and needy assistant. Those are the four key characters to move the plot forward, each with a special focus and interesting development to make the events captivating.

The filming is a total noir delivery with enriched dashes of the paradoxical style to keep the viewer thoughtful about the why of things, makes you doubt the ideas that cross your mind and knocks down all your assumptions when you least expect it. It has the calm and elegance of the English formation, thanks to Leonard, and the explosiveness of the Irish and American mobsters with shootings and deaths thanks to Richie and the rest.

La filmación es una entrega total de cine negro con pizcas enriquecidas del estilo paradójico para mantener al espectador pensativo en el porqué de las cosas, te hace dudar de las ideas que se te cruzan en la cabeza y tumba todas tus suposiciones cuando menos lo espera. Tiene la calma y elegancia de la formación inglesa, gracias a Leonard, y la explosividad de los mafiosos irlandeses y americanos con disparos y muertes gracias a Richie y el resto.

The technical and production team do a very good job, the costumes and sets are well cared for, fresh and captivating.

El equipo técnico y de producción hacen un trabajo muy bien, la vestimenta y los escenarios están bien cuidados, son frescos y cautivadores.

I liked the details in the shots, the close-up shots for both the characters and their actions, whether it's sewing on a button or putting away a cassette, it all makes for a very enjoyable film. The color editing, that yellowish, brownish and grayish tone completely give the vibe of the years of yesteryear. All this plays its fundamental role in the work to maintain the right ambience with the facts.

Los detalles en las tomas me han gustado, las tomas en primer plano tanto para los personajes como sus acciones, ya sea cosiendo un botón o guardando un casette, todo ello hace de la película muy disfrutable. La edición de los colores, ese tono amarillento, marrón y grisáceo dan por completo la vibra de los años de antaño. Todo ello juega su papel fundamental en la obra para mantener la ambientación correcta con los hechos.

Being its director Graham denoted a lot of attention to the emotions that are transmitted on the screen, something that also left me when I saw The Imitation Game, so I think that here he repeats a very well cared work that deserves more attention, the style is totally appropriate for the genres worked.

The story is completely understood with its ending, that plot twist after plot twist so interesting that leaves you flipping is the best of the film, it is not that it is easy to understand, it is that the sense is that the story explains itself; on the other hand its efficient dialogue work is sublime, all in the hands of a tailor who always knows what to say.

I loved it, I still think it was stupid not to have seen it as soon as I had the chance. I wanted to see the film primarily because of Dylan O'brien, I've been following his projects since I was a teenager, but it was Mark Rylance who got me completely hooked.

Me ha encantado, sigo pensando que fue una estupidez no haberla visto apenas tuve la oportunidad. La película la quise ver primeramente por Dylan O’brien, sigo sus proyectos desde adolescente, pero fue Mark Rylance quien me enganchó por completo.

It's surprising, gripping and witty.

Es sorprendente, atrapante e ingeniosa.

You empathize with the characters even though they are rude and greedy, you want to know what will happen to them, plus their shots, set design, editing and photography were also enjoyable. Old mafia movies are captivating, and I think no matter how many years go by, they will remain flawless and gripping.

Se empatiza con los personajes aunque sean groseros y avariciosos, quieres saber qué sucederá con ellos, además sus tomas, la escenografía, la edición y la fotografía también fueron agradables. Las películas de la mafia antigua son cautivadoras, y creo que no importa los años que pasen, seguirán siendo impecables y atrapantes.
