The Nigerian crypto traders are facing great challenges due to recent government policies regarding cryptocurrency. The federal government's reluctance to allow Nigerians to buy and invest in crypto has led to a ban on cryptocurrency transactions in previous years.

The lawmakers believe that cryptocurrency is a major contributor to the financial instability in the country. For me I don't believe so and I know so many do the same. When the leaders of the country aren't taking any positive actions toward making things better then they feel the path their citizens have found is the path that is causing the instability. The government feels that Nigerians are neglecting the national currency, prompting their unfriendly stance towards the crypto market. Just recently, some exchanges became inaccessible, which was a clear proof that the government tried working with the network subscribers to put an end to Nigerians accessing crypto apps.

This new crypto policy is deeply concerning. It makes me fearful about the future of crypto in Nigeria. I used to save my money in Dollar on Binance, as the excessive daily deductions by banks forced me to seek alternative options. I managed to make some profit there, unlike with Nigerian banks. However, with the current situation, I'm unsure if continuing with that act would be an advantage or disadvantage.

The uncertain accessibility of exchange websites adds to the uncertainty. The fear has made me hesitant to continue saving on these platforms. When the Binance app was difficult to access, I sold off my USDT without considering the current market price.

The government's actions have left investors uncertain and scared. The market has become highly volatile, with prices fluctuating rapidly due to these actions. Many are unsure of what to do, as the few amounts the funds they have in their portfolios make my heart race that's including me.

Recently, the Luno app stopped opening for days even till this moment. The money I have in the app was money I budgeted to cash out and use for miscellaneous items. I tried to access the app and I found out it wasn't accessible.

It happened for two days and I had to visit their X handle and realized it was a general issue. Leaving me unable to access my funds and the situation looking like there is nothing they can do has eroded my confidence in the crypto market if something like that happens to other exchanges. In order to stay above this,we still need resilience, adaptability, and collaboration to navigate this challenge posed by government policies.

In this situation, it's essential for us Nigerians to protect our interests. It's a thing of concern to see influential politicians trade in Dollar while claiming it's the reason for Naira instability. To come out on top, we need to explore other blockchains that allow peer-to-peer transactions and stay informed about exchange announcements and government regulations.

Also, staying above this requires vigilance and staying informed so as to know when it is right to make the right decision. As the situation evolves, we should also be ready to adapt to whatever the situation becomes in the future.
