Sí, has leído bien, dibujar letras.
The famous Lettering is nothing more than the art of drawing letters. Yes, you read that right, drawing letters. More than writing, it is about designing letters in different shapes that highlight even more the written message we want to convey. I have been practicing Lettering for quite some time now, since I was about fifteen years old approximately, although sometimes I feel that I lack a little more practice or perhaps be a little more consistent with this hobby.
Everything I have learned I did on my own, self-taught, and I never took a course or anything like that, but despite already having much more than basic notions in this matter a couple of days ago I was motivated to enroll in a Basic Course mostly to have my certificate in a hobby that I like and am passionate about.
It was quite entertaining to dedicate some time to return to the basic strokes with a single typeface. I think it's worth doing the basics once in a while, as it's a fun way to practice. These pictures today were part of an assignment I handed in to pass the course, as you can see it only consisted of drawing the letters of the alphabet and writing a message with that single typeface.
If you would like me to share a bit more about Lettering, let me know in the comments 💜✨
