Due to the planned economy and the resulting shortage, Cuba is not progressive, but several decades back in time. Only 3 percent of the Cuban population owns a car. On the one hand, cars are very expensive, and on the other, even a doctor only earns about $ 100 a month.

In den Nebenstraßen von Santiago de Cuba konnte ich die Pferdekutsche mit den beiden Kubanern fotografieren. Durch die Planwirtschaft und den daraus resultierenden Mangel ist Kuba nicht fortschrittlich, sondern etliche Jahrzehnte in der Zeit zurück. Nur 3 Prozent der kubanischen Bevölkerung besitzt ein Auto. Autos sind zum einen sehr teuer, zum anderen verdient selbst ein Arzt nur zirka 100 Dollar im Monat.
Da nur 3 Prozent der Bevölkerung ein Auto besitzen, können Pferdekutschen sogar Autobahnen benutzen. Ich habe in meinem Leben noch nie so leere Autobahnen gesesehen.
