Lisa stared sullenly through the scope of her rifle, 4 hours under the reproaching heat of the African sun had burned her patience to its roots. Within her she was quite sure that if the chance to fire her rifle didn't present itself soon she'd go mad.
She wiped stinging hot sweat off the back of her neck; "a sniper's greatest weapon is patience " she muttered quietly and sighted through the scope again.
2 spare seconds passed, "I hate life"she thought darkly. Her fingers itching to squeeze the trigger at anything.
10 minutes later a muffled crack rang out and 850 meters away a young boy toppled to the dusty earth missing half his skull.
