Today is Friday, the begininning of weekend.
After a long stressful week, there's a comfortable feeling of freedom and hope of rest because tomorrow is Saturday.
I decided to make a post today to acknowledge women who have become my favourites because they fought the toughest battles and came out absolutely victorious.
I stumbled on two pictures in my gallery today.
I'll talk about each picture and why the person deserves my "favourite fighter Friday" award
I concatenated them because there are so many similarities and differences in the picture so that's to make them obvious.
The picture by the left is a picture of my aunt and I. She is my mother's elder sister. She is the first born in a family of about 8 children of which my mum is the fourth. It's obvious she must have been a fallen angel when she was younger if at this age,she is that adorable.
She being the first born of the family in an era where female education was a taboo in Africa.
Being born into a family of a chief, she was quite lucky to have been exposed to the fun of education. A while after, tragedy struck! The cheif died. She had to be forced out into slavery as a maid to a "white"man just so her siblings could be trained and her mother could surivive.
You won't want me to recall how slavery was then or how racism in America was then or how much she had to suffer to make ends meet.
Well she fought, she won and today, she is a mother of two beautiful women and grandmother of three kids . The young lady beside her is me. That's a picture of us some months ago at an occassion
The second picture is a picture of my cousin and my mother.
My cousin is the second daughter of the woman I talked about above.
She has been a strong fighter too.
Being born at a time that things were all had with her parents and having to grow up with her mother alone, due to the unavoidable absence of her father.
She struggled to make sure she became the best.
She has acquired skills in almosr everything.
Her hands are blessed. Apart from all her ability to slay and gift in makeup ,the girl cooks for a living.
Her ability to run her home and just keep things together is what baffles me..
I can't stop to count how many times she's been there for me..
This lady is a fighter, there is nothing she has not fought and succeeded at which includes fighting ethnicity by marrying a cute yoruba man..and thier son is beautiful.
This is a memory from her marriage ceremony.
The last woman there is my mother
Yes ohh
The very woman in whom I spent my first 9months holiday.
This woman welcomed me to this world with the words "Our girl,Jesus loves you",sometime in the 90s.
She has been the first person to see me smile and correctly interprete, see me cry and know all is not well and see me laugh and laugh back because my laughter makes her laughter laugh..
She has a special place in my left ventricle😍.
Did you see the ring on her finger??
She's proud of it anytime, anywhere, anyday.
She's doing everything she can to make it work.
She didn't stop at marrying and flaunting the ring on social media.
She went further to keep her home, treat her family as number one and set that example for me.
She fought secret battles, some alone some with dad, some with me,some with all of us.
Ok,i'm done..
These three women deserve my Favourite Fighter Friday Award.
God bless you and keep you all.
