I know how it was when I first started sketching, how bad it was. How my sister helped me fill in the tiny enclosed areas and how we used her picture as target practise.. How terrible. Then I moved to vector art which I didn't master. I just felt I wasn't well suited for it at that time. I don't know about now. I later moved to 3d kinda art which I evolved with overtime and now I can say my journey to mastery is at 80%
Smudge is a new deal for me. The reason I'm actually dedicating time on it is because of tutorials. Most people who have come to me for tutorials ended up quiting because of the amount of dedication it requires. So smudge look like something I can actually make easy for everyone. That is why I need to know all the pros and cons and I can only do that with constant practise.
For this picture, I chose a close up picture because I'm interested in the detailing. I want to see how good it will be up close with the smudging. It is an improvement from my last post I believe. I improvised on the highlights on a 'soft glow' layer and it came out just fine.
How's the eye detailing? Cos it wasn't easy...
Should I go for the mouth next?
