Good day guys. So I have had to spend more time on sketching these days and I understood that patience is the key. I don't really rush my artworks these days. I take time to analyse where the next shadow or highlight will fall on and how lightly or heavy it should be. A cartoon should not look to real or too off, and must bear semblance to the character.
The job only gets harder when you have blurry pictures or night pictures. Blurry pictures won't get you the detail you need, it creates this illusion for you that everything is going as planned when it really isn't. Night pictures overdo the shadows and it may get you confused. If you are not careful, you will find out your work is a bit exaggerated.
For this artwork, I was sent the combination of the two. Blurred under low light. When sketching I have to zoom in to the last pixel so as to get a clearer view of what I actually have to deal with but that wasn't the case, for this one. I had to rely on assumptions and manipulations to at least represent this character in the best way. So here I am, after 7 hours of intense stroking...

Soo I later refined the body. And zoomed out a little bit. Yeah right, I know it looks awkward.
