Just got banned from playing rising star missions. How dare I log in from a vpn?
Over 1000 missions and lev. 62 later, I don't know whether to feel sorry for myself or be happy that i at least tried. But there are a few things that keep revisiting my mind when it comes to adding value in the blockchain/crypto construct.
Decentralization is the most sold angle when getting people to sign up to crypto platforms that seek to add value to their respective blockchain ecosystems. When I find out that I neither have total control of use nor outcomes of such an opportunity, I may not want to invest myself into the noble cause of online 'freedom' as much as I did when on-boarding.
In this instance, I kept reminding myself that i agreed to the terms and conditions of the game, so I should always avoid using VPNs whenever I want to play. But being the human that i am i was bound to forget at some point, and thanks to paranoia when it comes to public WiFi, forget to turn it off while surfing and switching to the game. At least now I don't have to worry about that any more, but its also not what I wanted, as the game is a good source of distraction that seems to give me something to look forward to and keeps me alert every now and then.
Each platform and developed 'tokenism' solution has its own quirks to deal with. One tokenised fitness app has a difficult on-boarding system here, another is asking for access to the gadget's fitness data for verification there, some games sell themselves as play to earn, but don't guarantee earnings when played. Some trading platforms may even freeze a user's crypto if the tokens are suspected to have a history of laundering or fraud, whether or not the user was involved.
A lot of people notice these things and they slowly add up to disappointments in these platforms and finally disillusionment/resignation.
It seems like a long journey of discovery has just began, and as we iron out the kinks that disturb the waters of crypto from being swam in, a lot of issues stemming largely from human behavior have to be anticipated and dealt with as each individual code is being baked.
