I welcome us back to the Mass Indoctrination service. In today's teaching, Bro Eli covered the areas of fasting and praying and the way husbands and wifies should act towards each other.
Actions between Husbands and wifies
According to the book of 1 Corinthians 7:3-5, husbands should render to wifies what is due to them, likewise wifies to husbands. The wife has no power over her body but the husband and the husband has no power over his body but the wife. Also husband and wife ought to control themselves with a mutual consent when embarking on a praying journey. Hebrews 13:4, let marriage be honored among all and the bed undefiled for fornicators and adulteries God will judge.
Fasting and prayer
Fasting is an act done along with pray. What is the fasting being taught in the bible? Isaiah 58:6, if you will fast, loose that band of sin. For example, if you are a gambler, quit from it.
What to do when fasting?
Also from Matthew 5:28, I understood that whosoever lustfully looks at a woman, have commited adultery with her already in his heart. The bible also warns against women exposing their body to others except their husbands. Husbands are also to dwell with their wifies with wisdom giving honor to them as the weaker vessel, 1 Peter 3:7. When a man maltreat his wife, God will not listen to his prayers. Ephesians 5:24 stated that the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church. As the church is subject to Christ, let the wife be subject to the husband, 1 Corinthians 11:5-10.
From proverbs 19:14, I understood that houses and riches are good but a prudent wife is from God. The bible also said that whoever that finds a wife, finds a good thing and obtained favor from God, proverbs 18:22.
Finally, in 1 Corinthians 7:14, I learnt that if both parents are believers, the will raise children that are santified by God but if they are not, their children will be bad.
