A software engineer vs software architect have different but complementary roles in the software development process. A software engineer focuses on code implementation, optimization, and bug fixing. He or she is responsible for creating a functional, stable product using existing architectural solutions. The software architect, in turn, develops the overall system structure, defines technologies and approaches to achieve the project goals, ensuring scalability and flexibility.
