If I have the chance to meet with him, I would tell him to never give up on himself nor think that a certain hard season will last forever. I would let him know that life won't always go as you planned it and that it's okay... It's just life. I would let him know that there are a lot of seasons he would be passing through in life, and each comes with its own lessons. I would let him know that you can plan life only to later find out that life itself has had you planned too, and I would as well let him know that difficult seasons won't last and that delays are never denials.
Also, I would make him know the importance of appreciating even the simplest things. I would let him know that being grateful is the key; just be grateful for the journey while believing that things will definitely get better as you work towards it. Also, the need to enjoy himself and keep lots of memories鈥攁dulthood comes with a whole lot of responsibilities, and you can never be prepared enough for it.
In short, I won't be sugarcoating anything for him, not at all. I would tell him as it is while making sure that I'm not also discouraging him too, but the truth just needs to be told. And I won't forget to mention how important it is to take his health seriously. I know better now, and it won't be good if he has to experience what I did before taking it seriously. Also, he shouldn't compare his life with that of others; we all are different and so are our journeys.
In conclusion, I would want my younger self to know that as long as he doesn't give up, he will definitely make it through.
