Well, I'm glad because today is my mom's birthday. And honestly, I've been struggling to find the best and right words to say. Not as if she's not worthy of a write-up, an epistle, and the like, but because words seem to be too small to comprehend the person that she is. Such a kind, loving, and selfless human.
I thought I wouldn't be doing this today because, in all honesty, I'm not feeling my best. But thinking all about it, I felt this is so, so little compared to what she has done, so why would I say because I'm not feeling too good (healthwise), then I shouldn't appreciate her and shout her out to the world?
I really want to appreciate you, Mum, for being the definition of a mother. Thank you for your sacrifices, prayers, love, care, and all. I appreciate you, and trust me, I really do. I just can't seem to find the best of words.
And even though I don't say it enough and tell you how much you really mean to me, to us, your children, just know that you mean everything to us, to me. I know you are a very understanding one; you understand that we can be so caught up with life and everything happening around us, but still, we can't be so caught up as to not celebrate you.
I started a 7-day write-up to celebrate Dad, you, myself, and my siblings on the first day of this month; you actually triggered it. Yeah, I just wanted to celebrate everyone, make them feel loved, seen, and valued, especially you. Not every mother could be like you; you're just so different. Even when I thought you would let me go or give up on me, that was when you stood your ground and loved me even more. That feeling is priceless; you're indeed a mother.
Like I said earlier, I haven't been feeling my best for a few days, but still I can't let the day pass without penning something down. Because even when I wasn't at my best, you were there, even when it wasn't easy for you to handle and all; you still stood by me, sacrificing your own comfort, business, life, and all just because of me. Thank you, Mum. Honestly, I can never repay that kind of love.
I pray that the heavens be kind to you, that you will live long to enjoy the fruit of your labor, and that the Lord will keep you and keep your health.
Happy birthday, mum.
I love you. ❤️
