So, I have a story to share regarding this. It is a true life story, my own personal story at that.
Sometimes ago I was sick and admitted in the hospital. It was a very tough season for me..I must add that it remains the most difficult and hardest season of my life. That sickness took a whole lot away from me, coupled with that we were spending a lot of money, I mean we had spend a lot and already in debt already. With all of the spending and debts, there was still no clear sign of recovery.
Even though my parents, siblings and all weren't really showing it. I knew something's wrong and that they're getting tired. But then, they kept pushing through just for me. Then it got to a time when I was to undergo another operation, and we had nothing at all. I mean nothing at all.
My parents didn't know where else to go borrow. We're just there and this operation like the previous ones I've done is as well very very important that it be carried out as soon as possible.
And here's where the help came in. One of my doctors came by one morning like that and brought with him all that I would be needing for the surgery. I mean all of those things written for us to get, he brought with him almost all of it. Now we're left with just few and the actual money for anaesthesia and operation.
That night, the next thing that was even more amazing happened. I was on bed looking and wondering what exactly would become of me when someone walked in. It was dark and you know how it usually is in our government hospitals. No stable light and such. Well, long story short this man came in and went straight to the nurse's stand. They spoke for a while, then he left them and went to random beds to drop something next to them. I was the only one in my own side, even still he noticed me and came by.. he dropped an envelope on the table next to my bed and went. He bade the nurses goodbye and went his way.
I don't remember where everyone went to that night but I was just alone all by myself. It was when my brother returned that I told him about it. He checked and found out it was money. We couldn't believe it. Likkeeee....
Guess what, no one knew who this man is, including the nurses. He just came as a stranger and random person and left like one. Eve though the money wasn't enough to cater for the pressing issue, still it was something. It gave us hope.
That experience changed me. Even though I've always been the type to show kindness to people and help, that particular experience opened my eyes to something different. So, ever since then I make sure to help whenever I can. Especially when someone is going through a difficult time or is sick. It may not always be money. It can be a word of encouragement, staying next to them, or helping them anyway I could just to let them know they're not alone.
Well, that man is someone I may never know, I might have even seen him and not know. But then, his act of kindness did a lot for me. And his act of kindness started another kind of a chain. I'm glad he helped me when I needed it. And I would as well do well to help someone who needs help to. And I'm sure whoever I help would do same to someone else too, and like that the chain keeps going.
