Well, I think I've got something to say regarding this even though I won't be so open or elaborate om it so much. Stubbornness has really helped me and at the same time did the opposite for me. Yeah. I'm not that type of a stubborn person though but you know there are times that things things will show up and it will require that you remain adamant and stubborn, and there are times that you will need to weigh your options, and know if to put a pause to it, continue, bend or step back.
So, I have a time like that when stubbornness was the only thing keeping me going. I had reached a point in life where I'm supposed to have given up already and just let go. Things aren't going the way I planned and I just kept pushing through. People who knew about my ordeals and what I'm facing even told me I've tried enough and that it's time to just let go and do something else. But I refused to give up. Yeah, I was just stubborn in a different kind of way.
I kept pushing, even when I made mistakes, even when I was going into debts, I refused to give in. Well at the end, my stubbornness did pay off. That was when I realized I wasn't being stubborn because I felt I knew it all, I being stubborn because I believed that my efforts would definitely pay off someday, which it later did. And I really learnt from that.
Now, let's talk about the other side of the story. The part where being stubborn taught me something else entirely. Something happened back then and honestly I knew I was at fault, I was wrong, but I refused to accept/admit that I was. Everyone kept calling me out and trying to correct me but I just became more defensive and kept arguing my cause. Even those who I respected so much and those who cared me about me really well talked to me, advised me and all... I ignored it all.
Long story short, things at the end of the day got twisted and worse than I intended or thought of. Something that would have been easy to sort out at first at the end of the day became bigger than I can chew. All because I wouldn't say or accept that I was wrong.
Now, I learned from both experiences. Stubbornness is not always bad, there are times it's what helps you get through a tough season. Even when everyone thinks nothing good may come out, we keep pushing and most times it turns out well. But then, there's a very thin line between knowing when to remain stubborn all for a good cause and such and when to refuse to listen to advice and all.
Like I said earlier, I'm not much of a stubborn person but I know when to be actually stubborn just like the first experience I shared. So, there's the need to know when to keep holding on and when to let go.
