Huhm, a huge and deep topic, I must say. And I can't really wait to read various write-ups from everyone. I'm sure we will all have our various opinions on this. Also, since we all find happiness in different things.
For me, when we talk about happiness, I believe it's not just found or seen in big, grand things; it can be found even in the simplest of things. Even when things aren't looking like it and nothing seems to be going as planned, you can still find happiness in little things that will make you want to keep going and not give up.
Also, one of the things I've been allowing myself to do is to feel things. Yes. I mean, whatever happens to me, I allow myself to feel it; I don't just run away from it. I get betrayed, disappointed, worried, stressed, tired, and all, and I allow myself to feel it; it reminds me that I'm human at the end of the day. The only thing I do is just remind myself that it won't last forever and that a bad day or a bad moment doesn't mean or equate to a bad life.
I'm the type who always holds on to hope, and I believe so much that things can change any time. Aside from that, I'm always careful of the kind of people I get close to. When you're around good and genuine people, a bad day or a bad moment will feel lighter, even if you don't talk to them about it; they wouldn't want to see you acting moody and all.
This is not to say that I only feel good when I'm around people, no. I love and enjoy my time alone too. Yeah, being alone with my thoughts, listening to music, watching a movie, cooking, resting, or writing like I'm doing now also helps a lot.
And like I said earlier, happiness can be found in small things too. It can be anything; maybe you cooked your favorite meal, maybe you bought something, maybe you had a conversation with someone, maybe you finished with someone you've been struggling with, or anything. It could even be something silly that would make you happy and put a smile on your face.
Also, when I remember things I've gone through and faced in life, I can't help but remain hopeful that better days are still ahead. And that's it for me; I don't wait for the big things to happen before I allow myself to be happy and smile freely. I see reasons to smile even from little wins while I keep doing my best to navigate through the difficulties of life.
