I love this topic. And before going deep into the topic I will love to highlight two things, First is AI itself and the other one is the purpose of AI.
AI as we all know is artificial intelligence, it is the technology or advancement in technology that allows for computers, machines and maybe robots to carry out tasks that usually needs human intelligence. Now, another amazing thing about it is how fast as nd quick it is. In minutes or seconds it brings the answers you need and solves problems.
Talking about it purpose too, it is one that cannot be overemphasized, AI can answer questions, translate to any language, bring whatever materials you need for researches, create image, solve problems, guide you and give step-by-step process on the way to go about a thing. In short, it's main purpose is to make life easier for us humans.
And we can see it in our everyday life, AI is almost taking over almost every sphere. School student now use it in doing tier assignments, writers use it in generating ideas, some use it in generating images for their write-ups, programmers use it in writing codes and a lot of things that we can't keep on counting. Even on our phones, most of our phones now come with AI assistance. And what can we say, it's what we can all say and can attest to that AI is one of the greatest innovations.
But then, the more we give room to AI the more dangerous it becomes. The more we allow AI to the the thinking for us the more lazier, we become. The more we allow AI solve problems for us the more our minds and brains becomes useless. A lot us no longer sit ourselves down to think of a solution, what we do is go to AI tyoenor record it and we wait a few seconds to get an answer or a solution from AI. You all will agree with me that AI at that moment as done it's work and served it purpose, in the sense that it gave you answers in a very short period of time, now the question is, at what cost?
All of those conveniences come at a cost...we stopped tasking our brains, we stopped thinking deeply about a thing, and that way we start rendering our brains useless. And a lot of us prefer that to making mistakes, that's just it. We want to get things done fast and at a go, we don't want to try various ideas and ways in getting a thing done, we've failed to realize that all those errors, failures, try again and such are what's shaping our thinking and improving our brains.
I'm not saying that AI is bad, not at all. At least I will be making use of it to generate a perfect image that best fits/describes this writeup of mine. And that what AI should be, a tool. Yes, it should be and remain a tool, we should never allow it cross the line into replacing us and thinking for us. A lot of us have become less creative with the way we use AI which ought not to be.
AI to me cannot be smarter than humans, so I don't see it posing any threat because it was birthed out of human thinking and they keep improving it, limiting it and all of that, the real threat/danger I feel we have here is how we humans are becoming too comfortable to think for ourselves, everything is now AI. And if it continues, I mean if we continue to allow AI to do all of the tasks, the writings, the designing, the thinkings and all, then we are losing our without even knowing.
Ease of a truth does come at a cost, it's left for us to be careful not to exchange our creativity and originality for the convenience and ease that AI brings. So, it's important for us to be guided and know when to make use of it(AI), and when to really think for ourselves.
