El pasado domingo fui a visitar uno de los pueblitos cercanos de mi hermoso estado Lara, en Venezuela, este pueblito llamado Quibor es la capital del municipio Jimenez, muy popular por sus artesanías, su agricultura y por su historia, todo el que viene al Estado Lara siente la curiosidad de visitar este agradable lugar, con un clima caluroso, tranquilo, de gente amable, especial para disfrutar de un paseo y llevarte de recuerdo hermosas artesanías.

Last Sunday I went to visit one of the nearby towns of my beautiful state of Lara, in Venezuela, this town called Quibor is the capital of the Jimenez municipality, very popular for its crafts, its agriculture and its history, everyone who comes to the State of Lara is curious to visit this pleasant place, with a warm, calm climate, friendly people, special to enjoy a walk and take home beautiful crafts as souvenirs.

Desde mi lugar de residencia Cabudare, en el mismo estado, hasta la ciudad de Quibor son aproximadamente 49 km de distancia, tardando en carretera un poco menos de una hora y disfrutando de unos paisajes hermosos, esta es una zona árida en su gran mayoría, en el cruce hacia el mercado de artesanías de este lugar puedes observar uno de los paisajes más hermosos que guarda mi país, llamados las Cárcavas de Quibor.

From my place of residence Cabudare, in the same state, to the city of Quibor is approximately 49 km away, taking a little less than an hour by road and enjoying beautiful landscapes, this is an arid area for the most part, at the crossroads to the craft market of this place you can see one of the most beautiful landscapes that my country has, called the Cárcavas de Quibor.

Las cárcavas son el producto impresionante de la tierra erosionada por la acción del agua, éstas han creado profundas grietas y barrancos en la tierra, formando un laberinto natural de gran belleza, aquí es imposible andar a mucha velocidad en tu vehículo ya que no te puedes ir de este lugar sin tomar muchas fotografías, este lugar me parece como de película, parece traído de otro planeta, ja ja, siempre que paso por allí tomo una gran cantidad de fotografías ya que el paisaje me resulta muy hermoso

The gullies are the impressive product of the earth eroded by the action of water, these have created deep cracks and ravines in the earth, forming a natural labyrinth of great beauty, here it is impossible to drive at high speed in your vehicle since you cannot leave this place without taking many photographs, this place seems like a movie to me, it seems brought from another planet, ha ha, every time I pass by there I take a large number of photographs since the landscape seems very beautiful to me.

Luego de pasar estas Cárcavas llegas al mercado de artesanías la tinaja, allí vas a encontrar una gran cantidad de variedades de artículos hechos totalmente a mano, entre ellos las populares artesanías en arcilla como vasos, tazas, jarras, etc., también encontrarás a hamacas tejidas completamente a mano, figuras talladas en madera, pinturas, objetos diseñados exclusivamente por estos artesanos qué tal vez no consigas en otro lugar .

After passing these Carcavas you arrive at the La Tinaja handicraft market, there you will find a large variety of items made entirely by hand, among them the popular clay crafts such as glasses, cups, jugs, etc. You will also find hammocks woven entirely by hand, figures carved in wood, paintings, objects designed exclusively by these artisans that you may not find anywhere else.

Hace varios años acostumbraba visitar este lugar muy seguido, desde allí tienes acceso a otros destinos populares en mi región como las lomas de Cubiro, el tocino, Sanare, al llegar al mercado de artesanías sentí un poco de nostalgia ya que este lugar en años anteriores era muy concurrido, me sorprendió ver la soledad que lo arropa, muy pocas tiendas funcionando y el sitio un poco descuidado, es increíble que siendo un patrimonio cultural de mi país no se le dé la importancia suficiente como para mantenerlo en buenas condiciones, para el disfrute de los turistas y también de los que habitan la zona.

Several years ago I used to visit this place very often, from there you have access to other popular destinations in my region such as the hills of Cubiro, Tocino, Sanare, when I arrived at the crafts market I felt a little nostalgic since this place in previous years was very crowded, I was surprised to see the loneliness that surrounds it, very few stores operating and the site a little neglected, it is incredible that being a cultural heritage of my country it is not given enough importance to keep it in good condition, for the enjoyment of tourists and also those who live in the area.

Sin embargo aún funcionan algunas tiendas, estas son pequeñas casitas en las cuales te ofrecen sus hermosos trabajos, algunos a precios accesibles, otros un poco más costosos, todo depende la dificultad con la que se trabajó el objeto, en esta oportunidad fui a este lugar para llevar a mis padres a pasear, ellos ya están mayores y no pueden ir a sitios muy lejanos así que decidí llevarlos aquí ya que es relativamente cerca de nuestro hogar, para mí escogí llevar una linda tortuga tallada en madera esta me pareció Super económica por tan sólo 1$, a mi padre le compramos unas tazas de café, no tuve oportunidad de tomarle fotografía pero estas también son bastante económicas te venden 5 tazas por 1$, mi madre si no quiso llevar nada dijo que con disfrutar del lugar era suficiente.

However, some shops still operate, these are small houses in which they offer their beautiful works, some at affordable prices, others a little more expensive, it all depends on the difficulty with which the object was worked, this time I went to this place to take my parents for a walk, they are already older and can't go to very far away places so I decided to take them here since it is relatively close to our home, for me I chose to take a cute wooden turtle, this seemed super cheap to me for only $ 1, we bought my father some coffee cups, I didn't have the chance to take a picture of him but these are also quite cheap they sell you 5 cups for $ 1, my mother if she didn't want to take anything she said that just enjoying the place was enough.

Saliendo del mercado de artesanías te consigues una redoma con una gran tinaja llamada trípode, allí agarramos el retorno y decidimos dar una vuelta por el pueblo de Quibor, mis padres decidieron que fuese solo en el carro ya que estaban cansados y no pueden caminar mucho, así que les di un pequeño recorrido por esta pequeña ciudad, aquí he sabido de un museo el cual guarda piezas de los indígenas muy antiguas tristemente no lo he podido visitar espero pronto tener la disponibilidad para hacerlo ya que me encantaría conocerlo .

Comenzando a recorrer el pueblo me sorprendió lo avanzado y civilizado que está, recuerdo que hace muchos años fui a este lugar y era un típico pueblito con muy pocos avances, en la actualidad esta convertido en una mini ciudad, en la cual puedes conseguir todo lo que te puedas imaginar, tiendas de ropa, supermercados, bancos, estaciones de servicio, iglesias, etc., todos estos lugares han actualizado mucho el área comercial, es por esto que ya las personas que residen allí no se les hace necesario llegar hasta la ciudad de Barquisimeto la cual era hace algunos años el encuentro de todas estas personas para poder adquirir los productos de primera necesidad, hacer trámites legales entre otras cosas importantes.

Leaving the crafts market you find a flask with a large jar called a tripod, there we took the return trip and decided to take a ride around the town of Quibor, my parents decided to go only in the car since they were tired and cannot walk much, so I gave them a little tour of this small city, here I learned about a museum which keeps very old indigenous pieces, sadly I have not been able to visit it, I hope to soon have the availability to do so since I would love to visit it.

As I began to tour the town I was surprised by how advanced and civilized it is. I remember that many years ago I went to this place and it was a typical little town with very little progress. Today it has become a mini city, where you can get everything you can imagine, clothing stores, supermarkets, banks, gas stations, churches, etc. All these places have greatly updated the commercial area, which is why people who live there no longer need to go to the city of Barquisimeto, which a few years ago was the meeting place for all these people to be able to buy basic products, do legal paperwork, among other important things.

Amo disfrutar de estos paseos a hermosos pueblitos y explorar lugares nuevos, en esta ocasión para mí fue un gusto enorme poder llevar a mis padres ya que ellos están mayores y con varias complicaciones de salud que no les permiten salir mucho de su hogar, ellos estuvieron muy contentos y eso me da mucha felicidad, es todo por hoy, me despido deseándoles muchos éxitos y bendiciones

I love to enjoy these trips to beautiful little towns and explore new places. On this occasion, it was a great pleasure for me to be able to take my parents since they are older and have several health complications that do not allow them to leave their home much.
