Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes la idea para hacer una chaqueta o camisa de colores combinados, esta camisa es parte de un disfraz de un personaje que le gusta mucho a mi hija y me pidió que se la hiciera como disfraz para Halloween 🎃 , estas fechas son muy especiales para los chicos, ya que ellos les gusta mucho disfrazarse, así que manos a la obra, aquí les comparto el paso a paso:

Today I want to share with you an idea for making a colorful jacket or shirt. This shirt is part of a costume for a character my daughter loves, and she asked me to make it for her as a Halloween costume 🎃. These holidays are very special for kids, since they love dressing up, so let's get started! Here are the step-by-step instructions:

A pesar de qué las celebraciones del Halloween no son propias de mi país, hoy en día somos muchos los que nos unimos a esta tradición, sólo por el hecho de disfrutar una noche de disfraces, diversión y decoraciones espeluznantes 🎃 👻💀 y si es para complacer a mis hijos, con más amor me uno a celebrar Halloween, hace unos días mi hija me pidió que le hiciera un disfraz, por suerte he guardado tantos retazos o quizás en otros tiempos. He comprado telas que las he guardado y no las he utilizado y buscando entre mis telas conseguí una tela blanca y una roja perfectas para este disfraz, así que hice el esfuerzo en hacérselo lo más parecido, este consta de un pantalón negro (ya lo tenía de antes), una blusa corta negra y una chaqueta o camisa blanca con detalles rojos, hace unos días le hice la blusa negra, ahora vamos a hacerle la chaqueta, así que manos a la obra, Aquí les dejo la lista de materiales a utilizar:

• tela blanca aproximadamente medio metro
• Tela roja de esta puede ser quizás 1/4 m
• Tijeras
• Camisa para guiarse de la medida
• Cinta métrica
• Hilos
• Máquina de coser

Although Halloween celebrations aren't traditionally held in my country, many of us have joined in the tradition these days, simply to enjoy a night of costumes, fun, and spooky decorations 🎃 👻💀. And if it's to please my children, I'm even more eager to celebrate Halloween. A few days ago, my daughter asked me to make her a costume. Luckily, I've saved so many scraps of fabric, or perhaps I did in other times. I've bought fabrics that I've kept and haven't used, and while searching through my collection, I found a white and a red fabric that were perfect for this costume. So, I made the effort to make it as close as possible. It consists of black pants (which I already had), a short black top, and a white jacket or shirt with red details. I made the black top a few days ago; now we're going to make the jacket, so let's get to work! Here's the list of materials you'll need:

• White fabric, approximately half a meter
• Red fabric, perhaps a quarter meter
• Scissors
• Shirt to use as a measuring guide
• Measuring tape
• Thread
• Sewing machine

Para la confección de esta camisa, podemos guiarnos por una camisa que ya tengamos con la medida que necesitamos, vamos a copiar la parte de atrás toda en color blanco, esta no la voy a hacer tan larga, debe llegar un poco más abajo de la cintura, para la parte delantera la vamos a cortar en dos partes, la parte de abajo será en color blanco, esta tendrá una medida aproximada de 26cm de alto, y le dejaré un excedente de 4 cm para hacerle el dobles, ya que esta no lleva ni botones ni cremallera, la parte de arriba la vamos a cortar en color rojo.

To make this shirt, we can use a shirt we already have in the size we need as a guide. We're going to copy the back part all in white. I'm not going to make it too long; it should reach a little below the waist. For the front part, we're going to cut it in two pieces. The bottom part will be white, approximately 26cm high, and I'll leave a 4cm excess to make the hem, since it doesn't have buttons or a zipper. We're going to cut the top part in red.

Seguimos confeccionando la manga, para esto nos guiamos por la medida que nos dio la parte de la camisa que ya cortamos, luego le damos la forma redondeada y el largo de su preferencia, en este caso el largo de la manga es a mitad del brazo, lo que llaman 3/4, el modelo de esta camisa, por lo que veo en la imagen por la que me estoy guiando no lleva cuello. Aparte sólo el doble en la parte delantera para esto se lo terminaré de confeccionar cuando ya la tenga casi lista.

We continue making the sleeve. For this, we use the measurement from the piece of the shirt we already cut as a guide. Then we give it a rounded shape and the length you prefer. In this case, the sleeve length is halfway down the arm, what's called 3/4. This shirt model, from what I can see in the image I'm using as a reference, doesn't have a collar. Besides that, there's only the folded-over front; I'll finish sewing that when I have it almost ready.

En este paso vamos a comenzar con las costuras, unimos las partes delanteras, la pieza roja con la blanca y seguimos uniendo con costura en la parte de los hombros, luego unimos las mangas y seguimos pasando costura uniendo por los laterales, esta confección es bastante sencilla, ya que esta camisa no lleva pinzas y es recta a los lados.

In this step we will begin with the seams, joining the front pieces, the red piece with the white one, and continuing to join with a seam at the shoulders. Then we join the sleeves and continue sewing along the sides. This construction is quite simple, as this shirt does not have darts and is straight at the sides.

Ahora voy a confeccionar la parte del cuello, para esto voy a colocar la orilla de la parte roja de la camisa sobre otro retazo de tela roja doble para que salgan las dos partes, esto será como un forro para esta parte, bajo 2 cm en la orilla del cuello y corto, esto hará que quede con forma puntiaguda al doblarla, será parecido al cuello que llevan las chaquetas, el ancho de este pequeño forro será de aproximadamente 10 cm, al tenerlo listo, le pasamos costura por toda la orilla, luego doblamos y le pasamos costura por la parte externa.

Now I'm going to make the collar part. To do this, I'll place the edge of the red part of the shirt on another piece of double-layered red fabric so that both pieces come out. This will be like a lining for this part. I'll lower the edge of the collar by 2 cm and cut it. This will make it pointed when folded, similar to the collar on jackets. The width of this small lining will be approximately 10 cm. Once it's ready, I'll sew all along the edge, then fold it over and sew along the outside.

Ya para finalizar esta linda camisa, vamos a hacerle el ruedo en las mangas y en la parte inferior de la misma, en las mangas le voy a hacer un dobles de aproximadamente 6 cm y así ya está lista la confección de esta camisa para el disfraz de mi hija, me ha parecido muy sencilla la confección de esta camisa y me encantó el resultado, y lo mejor de todo es que mi hija está muy feliz 😊🎃👻

To finish this cute shirt, we're going to hem the sleeves and the bottom edge. I'll fold over about 6 cm on the sleeves, and that's it! Making this shirt for my daughter's costume was super easy, and I loved the result. Best of all, my daughter is so happy! 😊🎃👻

Mi hija estaba tan entusiasmada cuando le dije que si le haría su disfraz que ella solita hizo los accesorios, este personaje es especie de una carnicera, así que entre sus manos lleva cuchillos de carnicero, sierras y mucha sangre, me impresionó ella al hacer sus accesorios, ya que solita los diseñó y los pintó y le quedaron muy bien y es el complemento perfecto para este disfraz y una vez más me siento orgullosa al ver la felicidad de mi hija más pequeña luciendo orgullosa este disfraz he hecho por mí, es todo por hoy, me despido deseándoles muchas bendiciones ❤️

My daughter was so excited when I told her I would make her costume that she made the accessories herself! This character is kind of a butcher, so she's carrying butcher knives, saws, and lots of blood. I was impressed by her making the accessories; she designed and painted them all by herself, and they turned out great. They're the perfect complement to this costume, and once again, I feel so proud seeing my youngest daughter so happy and proudly wearing this costume I made. That's all for today.
