The buffalo ( water buffalo carabanesis or sometimes Bubalus carabanesis ) is a domesticated species of water buffalo commonly found in the Philippines , Guam , as well as in other parts of Southeast Asia . The buffalo is often associated with peasants because it is often the preferred animal for plowing and pushing carts used by peasants to bring their produce to the market.
The buffaloes usually live 18 to 20 years and their weight can reach up to eight hundred pounds in their age. The female and male buffalo are both horny. Black is the usual color of their skin surrounding their entire body while their heads are shaved and the tail of their tail. Although silent, they can make a noise when they get stuck. The buffaloes are often seen refrigerating in mucus, as they are also absent in so-called sweat glands. It is good for their health because they are not only cooling but they also have shields against insects. Buffalo only eat wild plants and grass. In other parts of the world, buffaloes are important for their milk and meat.
