Sorry you feel that way--Rei did train in the second movie, and heavily at the beginning of the third movie, but I think the source of her talents was also revealed at the end of the third movie. As for it ruining Anikan's and Luke's sacrifices ... I agree completely. It was my biggest issue with the sequels.
