Kind of like missing the family reunion for a few years, and suddenly all the cousins are unfamiliar. I don't think you're going to see the new Star Wars movies very much outside of Disney Plus anymore, so people like us won't get to see them once they're out of the theater.
I'm not a video gamer myself, but my wife is, and she says it really did make the movie better for her. I loved all the references to 80s pop culture--I turned 18 in 1980, so it's right there for me. Haven't read the book yet, though.
