@smooth is the kind of person who will listen to rational arguments regardless of who presents them. I haven't interacted with @timcliff save for a few jokes in a comment chain a long time ago. I suggest you make your case to anyone you think will listen and has the ability to make things happen. I'm not going to do it because I'm not 100% convinced it would work.
