When on my college visit to The King's College in Manhattan, the school took incoming students out for a free dinner and Broadway show. On Your Feet was the name of the show. It was about a Cuban girl who was living in Miami. She could sing very well and she became a pop star. Then came all the "problems" of being rich and famous as a Cuban in the United States. I was a little annoyed by all the political statements they were implying but overall for being my first ever Broadway play I was impressed.
After the show, when walking back to the dorms, we passed the Church of Scientology. This was the highlight of my trip to New York City. Not the street performers, not the availability of having food being delivered to where ever you are, not the overwhelming feeling of motivation and drive that the city spews, but seeing the Church of Scientology in the Theatre district among all of its counterparts, such as The Broadway Theatre, The Winter Garden Theatre, and The Richard Rodgers Theatre, while putting on an equally elaborate show was just perfect.
I cant wait to be in the city next fall to see what other easter eggs New York City has. If you have been to New York City or live there let me know what fun things i should try or cool places i should visit!
