So I was getting a bit bored with the same old flies and bee shots (can't wait for the spiders to start appearing) so I thought I would have a go at shooting some of the flowers that are coming up in my garden. Today is pretty windy so I decided to use the flashgun and diffuser so as not to end up with just a blur of petals, but the problem with this is that you get black backgrounds and they invariably end up looking like studio shots. That's great in a lot of cases, but I do think the contrast of flowers on the black backgrounds can be a bit harsh sometimes.
So I figured that I would have a play in Lightroom and see what I could do to manipulate them into something I am a bit happier with.
I and really happy with the first one (aquilegia) and the daisy. The third one, the alpine, just doesn't have much to it. It's still a nice shot but no-where near as nice as the other two. What do you think?
Thanks for looking
