Tianjin University Gallery

Yin and Yang, the Chinese belief that opposing forces are inextricably linked, was the starting point of the Tianjin University Gallery, designed by Chinese studio Zhanghua Architects.
Seven interconnected clay structures surround this glass university building, located in the booming city of Tianjin. The university, which was established in 1895, was the first modern higher education institution in China.
The architects conceived this building as a continuous and changing physical space, echoing organic cycles and natural structures such as rivers and mountains.
