The architect Magnus Maarbjerg from the Danish studio Fokstrot and the Australian Marshall Blecher, based in Copenhagen, have completed the first phase of their project "Copenhagen Islands".
"Copenhagen Islands" aims to reinvent public parks creatively. The project aims to create a sequence of wooden platforms in a mobile and floating "Parkipelago".
The first structure of the nine proposed, is a prototype island of 20 m2, handcrafted from wood, using sustainable materials and locally sourced. It is an area where swimmers or kayakers can relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Other facilities include a floating sauna, a bar, a swimming platform and a stage, a garden and a miniature park.
