Good day, my friends at #queercoin. We're meeting again, this time to reflect on the controversial terms matriarchy and patriarchy.
Let's begin by understanding their meanings:
Matriarchy: This is a hypothetical or very specific social system in which women, particularly mothers, occupy the central position of authority, leadership, and power in the family and society. It's important to know that although this term is used, studies indicate that no historical or current society exists where women exert oppressive or absolute control over men.

Patriarchy: This is a widely documented social system where men hold primary power and predominate in roles of political leadership, moral authority, social privilege, and control of property.
Now, from my perspective as a woman, I believe the goal shouldn't be to replace one system of gender domination with another. Because patriarchy is harmful due to its foundation of domination and rigid hierarchy, a matriarchy that replicated that structure would be equally detrimental, only for the opposite gender. The ultimate goal would be equality between both genders.
There are many benefits to a matriarchy. For example, I can cite the positive value placed on a system that prioritizes reciprocity, care, community, and peace, in contrast to the competition and aggression often associated with patriarchal structures. Inheritance would also be passed down through the female line, primarily through mothers. And most importantly, women could make important decisions about their lives, their work, and their partners with greater freedom, including the ease of divorce, since their economic security would not be tied to marriage.
I feel it is highly unlikely that we will return to a system where matriarchy prevails. However, I am hopeful that we will move toward a more equitable and just society with respect to gender. Currently, the world is advocating not for replacing one form of domination with another, but rather for dismantling all manifestations of domination.

Lindo d铆a mis amigos de #queercoin. Nos volvemos a encontrar esta vez para reflexionar acerca de los t茅rminos tan pol茅micos como lo son el matriarcado y el patriarcado.
Comenzaremos conociendo su significado:
Matriarcado: es un sistema social hipot茅tico o muy espec铆fico en el cual las mujeres, en particular las madres, ocupan la posici贸n central de autoridad, liderazgo y poder en la familia y la sociedad. Es importante saber que aunque este t茅rmino se usa existen estudios que indican que no se conoce ninguna sociedad hist贸rica o actual donde las mujeres ejerzan un dominio opresivo o absoluto sobre los hombres.
Patriarcado: es un sistema social ampliamente documentado donde los hombres tienen el poder primario y predominan en los roles de liderazgo pol铆tico, autoridad moral, privilegio social y control de la propiedad.
Ahora bien desde mi punto de vista como mujer opino que el objetivo no debe ser cambiar un sistema de dominaci贸n de g茅nero por otro. Debido a que si el patriarcado es da帽ino porque se basa en la dominaci贸n y la jerarqu铆a r铆gida, un matriarcado que replicara esa estructura ser铆a igualmente perjudicial, solo que para otro g茅nero. La meta final ser铆a la equidad entre ambos g茅neros.
Son muchos los beneficios que tendr铆a un matriarcado ejemplo de ello puedo citar: la valoraci贸n positiva de un sistema que prioriza la reciprocidad, el cuidado, la comunidad y la paz, frente a la competencia y la agresividad que a menudo se asocian a estructuras patriarcales, Las herencias se transmitir铆an tambi茅n por la l铆nea de las mujeres principalmente las madres. Y lo m谩s importante, las mujeres pueden tomar decisiones importantes libremente sobre su vida, su trabajo y su pareja con mayor libertad, incluyendo la facilidad para divorciarse, ya que su seguridad econ贸mica no est谩 ligada al matrimonio.
Siento que es muy poco probable que volvamos a un sistema donde prime el matriarcado. Sin embargo, tengo esperanza que avancemos a una sociedad m谩s equitativa y justa con respecto a los g茅neros. En estos momentos el mundo aboga por no remplazar una dominaci贸n por otra sino desmantelar toda manifestaci贸n de dominaci贸n.
