Dude one and Dude two decided that they needed to build a clubhouse.
They were inspired to do this because they had the power of tools in their hands. To harvest a big squash, we had to bring out the clippers. To see the harvest video click here.
And big clippers in little hands mean lots of power. Before I knew it, not only the dead sunflower stalks were cut to the ideal building material size, but a few apple trees ended up a bit shorter as well.
The clubhouse ended up to be a quite beautiful creation. Masking tape was holding branches in place and also doubled as an ant trap. After trying out many containers, we settled on a yogurt container for the bird feeder.
Dude one roamed all over the yard until he found a string to hang it with. We cut a hole in the side, pocked a hole in the lid to push the string through and filled it all with sunflower seeds. Good thing they aren't heavy or the lid might not be able to hold up the rat bird feeder.
A bridge, a bucket, and a long wood board completed the setup. You all have stuff like that laying around in your yard as well, right?
All in all, the builders were happy with their handy work and the apple trees will grow bigger again.
