While I was gone, apparently a possum spend a night in the chicken coop. My housesitter went late at night to close the coop and it was too late to keep the wildlife out.
Apparently, the girls decided that nesting in the tree is a much better idea.
The white chicken is the mom of two black babies - one disappeared while I was gone. I am suspecting a hawk since they kept wandering out into open land. She and her babes are roosting in the Mulberry tree. The rest of the crew is up in the Chinese Elm.
Squeaker, the brown little rooster, is up with the big ones.
Behind the gatekeeper with the red eyes (no worries, only in the photo :) are the rest of the chickens all lined up in the tree. I have to go just at the right time and trow greens inside the coop to be able to lock them up. It will take me a while to break them off the tree habit.
Well, they are jungle birds and returned to the way of their forebirds 馃槃
