Happy start of the week my friends of
@motherhood a big hug for all of you I hope you are very well full of blessings and good health which is the most important thing, today I want to share with you a very important topic which is emotions is not misbehaving.
Emotions are important although many people do not pay attention to them, it is very important to learn to manage them because they help to develop skills to relate to others, that is why we need to learn to identify and understand the emotions and from an early age we must teach our children about them because many times we confuse emotions with bad behavior so we must understand what we feel to not repress them because many times we see a child cry, It is important to learn to validate their emotions and that they know them by teaching them the name of the emotion, that it is valid for them to feel that and that they should express what they are feeling.
Validating emotions is not as easy as it seems clearly anger is super difficult but learning to validate emotions instead of hitting or punishing them will make them healthy adults where they will know how to control their emotions and express themselves correctly, since I am a mom one of the things that I have tried the most with my children is emotions because I think that no one talks to us or explains this topic that is so extensive and needs to have more importance, my children are small and of course daily they have several emotions that they must learn to control and for this they must know them that is why I explain them through the color monster a very popular story where they talk about emotions through colors this monster changes color according to their emotion example is placed in green 💚 when looking for calm , blue 🩵 when he is very sad , black 🖤 when he is afraid , when he is angry he is red ❤️ and when he is yellow 💛 he is happy and in pink 🩷 when he has a lot of love with this story we can learn that despite the emotion we are going through and the color we are always important to validate that emotion and understand that it is normal to feel that way but we can change and achieve to be in yellow 💛 which is happy after understanding that emotion we are feeling and so my little ones have learned to know the emotions and when they have one of these I help them to validate it.
It sounds easy but it is not and I have had to learn to regulate myself because you can not calm anyone if you are not regulated and it is not easy to hear a child screaming and throwing a tantrum but connecting with his emotion will help us to stop telling him to shut up and help him to take a deep breath together which helps to accompany and model regularization that teaches more than scolding him because they do not need us to punish them when they are in a moment of emotions of anger and rage they just need adults to teach them how to calm down and how much they need adults to teach them how to calm down. model the regularization that teaches more than being scolding them as they don't need us to punish them when they are in a moment of angry and rage emotions they just need adults to teach them how to calm down and the more we accompany them in each emotion the more they will learn to self regulate in frustration 😣, sadness 😢,anger 😡 in the future.
