Both charming and tourist friendly countries in southeast Asia. Thailand is much more overcrowded according to my cousin who work there as a teacher. She used to convince me to work in Thailand because of its good salary and benefits and affordability of living. But I still remained here in the province in the Philippines. There's no place like home, just like you I also hate overcrowded places. It is so stress free and simple life here.
