Here is an example of too much water.
These plants were transplanted and watered days ago yet one of them is not doing well. I noticed the difference right away and asked the grower what happened. He went out to the plant and found the soil was very wet and overwatered. Apparently, there is a delicate balance between having enough water and too much. This combined with the stress of the recent transplant, the one plant is struggling. Another issue is the location next to the fence which blocks the direct sunlight on the pot for a significant part of the day. This pot is just taking longer to dry out. With smaller pots, it is not as critical because the water will dry out quickly. With these large 100 gallon pots, the water will be retained. The grower said that the large pots don't need to be watered as often, but overwatering can be an issue.
