Fact: June 2, 2022. Argentina Has Huge Untapped Oil and Gas Reserves

Argentina has one of the largest untapped gas reserves of the world. It is the Vaca Muerta shale. This shale is estimated to contain 16 billion barrels of oil and 308 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.

Due to internal reasons, which are political and lack of investment, the shale cannot be tapped at this time. In fact, Argentina is a net importer of energy.
