Hello friend Erne storiesoferne@storiesoferne Receive a cordial greeting from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. You started with a phrase that I fully share, I quote: "There are times when architecture does not have to be a complete building for us to appreciate it" end of quote. Many are the archaeological ruins that for their historical and architectural value speak to us, making our attention focus on them. These capitol columns; Although they are in perfect condition, they focus our attention and make you travel to the past, not only to the Capitol but to ancient cultures, in this case Corinthian. Now, answering your questions, I quote: What are your views on the Capitol Columns? Do you think they made the right decision to plant them inside the arboretum? end of quote. As for this type of columns, according to what I was able to investigate, they have the following characteristic:
The Corinthian order is the most ornate of the classical architectural orders, it is characterized by the vegetal decoration composed of acanthus leaves acquiring a curved shape. This characteristic makes me conclude that if they made the right decision when placing it in the arboretum. Thanks for posting this experience. Receive a strong virtual hug full of blessings, positive energy and lots of light.
