What the numbers say: publishing alone vs. publishing with a community

I have been posting on Hive for a month, and now I have the numbers to say it without hype: on Hive, the winner is not the one who writes the most — it is the one who publishes where an organized community stands behind the post. I measured it. This is not an opinion.

On October 31 I reviewed more than 200 posts, community by community. This is the median total pay of one post, depending on where you publish it:

📍 Where you publish💰 Median pay per post
HIVE CN (Chinese community)$2.45██████████
Hive Learners$1.55██████
Hive Book Club$1.13█████
Aliento$0.36█

The author keeps about half; the rest is shared among the curators. Same writer, same week, same effort: the difference between the weakest community and the strongest is almost 7×. Do the Chinese write better than everyone else? No. They are 38 authors who are organized: they read each other, comment on each other, and curate each other — every single day.

And the number that made it crystal clear for me was my own post. My introduction in Hive Book Club got 7 votes and added up to $0.144. Sounds small… until you take it apart:

🗳️ Where it came from💵 How much
1 single vote (an account with ~200,000 HP)$0.095 — 66% of the total
The other 6 votes together$0.049

One vote with HP behind it is worth more than six votes without strength. My own vote today, with my ~20 HP, is not even worth a cent. Alone, that is my ceiling.

That is why Hive con Datos exists. It is the group where we are building that same organization in Spanish: you publish, you announce it in the group, the community actually reads you, comments with data — no empty "great post" — and curates what is worth curating. And we all power up: I am staking 100% of what I earn until I reach 500 HP. The math is simple, and it is serious:

  • Today the group adds up to little — we are just starting.
  • If we become 20 members with 500 HP each, the group moves 10,000 HP: a combined support ~500× stronger than my vote today.
  • And curating also pays the curator: half of what each supported post earns is shared among its curators.

Nobody will hand you anything for joining: this is about building, together, the vote we do not have today.

If you post on Hive — or you want to start — come and build it with us: Hive con Datos 👉 https://t.me/HiveConDatos

And the number I need from you to start: how much HP do you have today? Leave it in the comments. With that number I will build the group's first table: where we stand, and how far we are from our first 10,000 HP together.

Data: my own measurement of October 31, 2026 (200+ posts, through the public Hive API) and the real votes on my October 31 post in Hive Book Club. HIVE price on November 1: ~$0.047.
