Sometimes I wonder what it will take to live life the way I see it in my head. This idea that I have, I think is not too pretentious, yet it seems to be out of reach.
Over the years we change our view on the world, and as time goes by we become more aware of the fact that happiness is something very subjective. To be part of society we all want money, because that is the exchange medium to get material things. However money is not all there is, yet materialism is preached all around us.
I think people would be happier if they would just live more in communion with nature than building around them a castle of material goods.
Materialism puts walls between people and divides them to such extent that competition starts taking place, and then, in many cases envy sets in. But see, people tend to be envious on those close to them, they are not envious on some famous individual they have never meet. The more personal the initial relationship with one another the more susceptible to be broken that relationship is, and here I am referring to relatives/family relationships, because we do not choose them, we are born into them.
The way I see it myself, competition has no place in society, despite that many think it promotes progress. In my opinion competition gives way to antagonism, and that should be avoided if betterment is the goal. I am not saying that one should not strive to exceed, just the opposite, but do not compete against someone else, if there one person to compete against that is oneself.
What always works is cooperation, but that requires selfishness to be eliminated, and this is one major obstacle, because ego is part of the person, and some have it more developed than others. I think the ego is selfish by nature and that is what we have to watch for.
Thru cooperation we build relationships. Think on that for a bit. When we set onto achieving some goal, whatever that is, once we get that accomplished we are satisfied on a very personal level, but when we closely work as a team with other people at the end of the day we experience far more joy. Physically doing something together builds bridges, forms, and strengths bonds. I see this as being the essence of not only success but happiness as well.
Human beings are social by nature, and need close interaction with each other. Nothing weights more than being in the company of those who you feel good having around, and those with common moral values.
Well, we can all learn together, no one knows everything, there is always something to discover everyday, regardless of how much you think you know, learning together is a never ending experience. What inspires and motivates are people not things.
When we want to be successful in one area or another, we lookup to people who have done what we are after, and try the emulate them in some way and at the same time adding in the mix our own personality and values. Ones personal values are very important, those are the foundation of an individual's character.
To be successful means to be surrounded with people and help each other, but that's my idea.
