Take A Pic Round 23 - Easter decorations

Easter, I think is usually associated to bunnies and eggs. I know them as Easter bunny and Easter egg. I have seen Easter bunny and Easter egg chocolates sold in stores and I have received a few as gifts but I couldn't bring myself to eat them because they were just too cute.

Yesterday, while walking to an arts and crafts shop, I see these bunnies and egg basket decorations being sold. Would you like a gold dusted bunny or a yellow bunny? The colourful bamboo basket / pail looked interesting too:

I have always wondered why Easter is associated or is symbolized by bunnies and eggs. And so, I asked the internet:

The Easter Bunny (also called the Easter Rabbit or Easter Hare) is a folkloric figure and symbol of Easter, depicted as a rabbit bringing Easter eggs. Originating among German Lutherans, the "Easter Hare" originally played the role of a judge, evaluating whether children were good or disobedient in behavior at the start of the season of Eastertide.

Easter eggs, also called Paschal eggs, are eggs that are sometimes decorated. They are usually used as gifts on the occasion of Easter. As such, Easter eggs are common during the season of Eastertide (Easter season). The oldest tradition is to use dyed and painted chicken eggs, but a modern custom is to substitute chocolate eggs wrapped in colored foil, hand-carved wooden eggs, or plastic eggs filled with confectionery such as chocolate.

Ah, that was why the bunnies and eggs.

In a lower shelf, these soft, squishy bunnies were tempting me to bring them home:

There were ceramic egg holders being sold too, with bunnies holding one to them as though they were surfing:

And how about some bunny ears for the little ones? It came in all different colours :)
