There was a sense of paranoia when we needed to go to the grocer after 2 weeks of partial lockdown to stock up for another 2 weeks. Armed with the duckbill face mask and the shopping list, hubs was determined to complete the run as fast as possible.
After 2 hours, he came back with the groceries but without a list of items such as fresh vegetables and flour which were sold out. I was on standby at home with a pail of food safe soap water and a cloth.
The moment the bags came in, I started wiping all boxes, packaging and plastic covers. Never have I wiped groceries before but needs must. Then, I soaked all the grocery bags in soap water and washed them up after an hour.
What used to be a relaxing outing felt like a battle.
