Hi guuuuuuuuuys!
We are momentarily experiencing a typhoon named Paeng who seems to be passing by at a very slow rate. The typhoon forecasted to be heading up north. However, scattered rain showers were reported and thus resulted to overflowing of water. There had already been reports posted that a few roads were no longer passable due to non-stop pouring of heavy rains since early this morning. Several areas were also flooded.
Let us all offer a silent prayer that those that were majorly hit may all be safe and away from any harm. Also, praying that no casualties may be reported.
But despite the typhoon we are experiencing, me and little Max still went out and visit a dear friend who has especially prepared lunch meals for us. I was hesitant to call off our playdates because the rain had slowly stopped and had somehow allowed us to be out.
Her name is IRIS and she has three children, 1 boy and 2 girls. We have been friends since the day she had been hired in the office way back in 2005. Yes we are not just friends but as well as colleagues in the same company we are working for. Our friendship has developed over time. She is a super great cook and that is why any invitation over to her house I do not refuse. I know my tummy will be more than satisfied. Always!
Did I tell you she has the best coffee in her pantry?? It is the real thing, not just the commercially made 3-in-1 packs. And that is all because she has the handiest and super cool coffee maker, the Dulce Gusto, which can only be used with coffee capsules in different flavors. Amaaaaaazing gadget to have. Soon, I will have my own. Hahaha..
For today, she prepared for a creamy carbonara with spiced ham and bottom mushrooms and paired it with her home-made garlic breads that smells sooooooooo goood.
She also had some fried lumpia (spring rolls) and a sauce to die for!! You cannot eat lumpia without deeping it into a tailored and seasoned vinegar sauce. I loooooove how the kick of spiciness felt in my palate.
And as for the kids, her little two girls had playfully entertained little Max. At first, little max won't paid them any attention for he rarely see the girls. But after a few minutes, little max had slowly warmed up to them. The girls had prepared a few toys they could play with.
The kids had soon tired out of playing non-stop with little Max. Thus, my baby had drifted to sleep to get recharged. So mommy had more time for all of the above talk and eat with the gang.
Then, when little Max finally woke up. IRIS had fried some fried for the kids which had lighten up the mood of my little boy. He do love fries, are there any kids who do not enjoy eating mouthful of fries??! I could not imagine it either. Though we know pretty well that fries aren't good for our body especially for the kids.
It was indeed a quick and unplanned visit. As per experience, unplanned activities are mostly that are truly materialized as compared to a well planned activity that goes nowhere.
Our day went well with a very happy and satisfied tummy.
Gotta go home because the rain had finally picked up its rate and suddenly started to get heavy pours again.
