In Kütahya, the communities first started to live in 3000 BC. Kütahya was first used by the Phrygian kingdom as a city. In 676 BC, Kütahya was conquered by the Kimmer kingdom.
In 546 BC Kutahya was conquered by the Persian Empire. But after the Persians were defeated by Alexander the Great, they left Kutahya. In 133 BC, Kütahya became a city of the Roman Empire. And for many years it was ruled by Kütahya, Roman and Byzantine empires.
In 1071 Kutahya was conquered by the Seljuk State. And for a while Kutahya changed hands between various Turkish states. In 1381, the city of Kütahya was given to the Ottoman Empire as a gift. After the breakup of the Ottoman Empire, Kutahya has been a city of the Republic of Turkey.
