Karkamis

According to researches, the ancient city of Karkamis was founded in 6000 BC. Unfortunately, there is not much information about Karkamış until the 17th century BC. In the 17th century BC, Karkamış city was a separate state. Karkamış city was conquered by Hittite kingdom in 14th century BC. And the Hittite kingdom has been made a lot of investment in the city of Karkamış. Karkamış has the most fertile agricultural lands on the world. Therefore, many governments tried to conquer the city of Karkamis. Karkamis became a very important city until it was conquered by the Roman emperor. But in later years, Karkamis has lost its importance.
