II. Ecthelion was born in the middle world of Tolkien in the 2886 year of the third age. Ecthelion became the steward of Gondor in 2953. Ecthelion is a wise king. Ecthelion thought that Sauron would attack Gondor in the near future and therefore tried to strengthen Gondor's defense. Ecthelion died in the 2984 year of the third age.
