Flavius Basiliscus

Basiliscus was born in 414. The full name of Basiliscus is Flavius Basiliscus. Basiliscus was the apostolic influence of the Roman state in 475 BC.

Basiliscus initiated a rebellion against Emperor Zeno. And because of this revolt Zeno resigned from the emperor's mission. On this count Basiliscus became an eastern Roman emperor.

But Basiliscus has begun to interfere with the religious beliefs of the Byzantine people. In addition, Basiliscus put new taxes on food prices. Basiliscus assigned his own relatives to all important Byzantine position. Then the Byzantine people ceased to support Basiliscus.

And Zena, who created a great army at this time, proclaimed himself a Roman emperor. Basiliscus started a war against Zeno. But the Byzantine army did not support Basiliscus. Zeno caught Basiliscus and executed him.
