I. Edmund was born in 921. Edmund is the brother of Athelstan. Athelstan chose Edmund as the heir because he had never married. And after Athelstan was killed, Edmund became king of England in 939.
In Edmund he fought against the Vikings like Athelstan. And Edmund offered the Vikings two options.
